Girl's Hockey Rocks!

Our Employee Lynn asked me to make a cake for her daughter Carly for her June 30th birthday party. Carly is in LOVE with her Little Falls girl's hockey team. Lynn wanted a hockey jersey with their last name on the back, Carly's #15, and the words... "Girl's Hockey Rocks!"
Carly is the little blonde smiling goalie!
This cake was made out of two 9x13 cakes and homemade buttercream & marshmallow fondant.
These are little fondant hockey pucks I made for her candle holders. Cute Huh?!?!

Roses rising to the sky

I made this cake for my sister Sara's boyfriend, Ron. His grandma died & for the memorial service on June 29th, they wanted a cake to help celebrate her life & early birthday... she was born on July 4th.
I decorated the cake in red, white & blue with her favorite red roses.
Melva's birthday cake. She almost made it to her 81st birthday. This is a 2 layer 12 inch cake with blue & white homemade buttercream frosting & red homemade marshmallow fondant roses. The happy birthday plaques are also marshmallow fondant.

Tony of all Trades

Our employee Tony turned the big 30! I made this cake for his surprise birthday party his wife threw on Sunday, June 26th. I modeled the cake after the napkins & decorations that we used for the party. Tony is known for his many interests & jobs that he has or has held.
I made little replicas of things he likes or things he uses for his jobs. Tony works at Keller Williams Realty, thus the house & the realtor sign. Tony loves the MN Vikings, softball, and had a Star Tribune/ Brainerd Daily Dispatch route.
I made Tony wearing his Domino's Pizza uniform & I also made a Domino's HeatWave bag. Tony loves the MN Wild hockey team and anything to do with cell phones. He used to work for AT&T CellOne.
Little Tony
Tony has worked for Domino's (my husband & I) for longer than we've owned it, almost 7 years now.
Tony & his cake, in his uniform because he had to work in order for his wife to pull off the surprise. We had him deliver an order to the party & we surprised him.

Tony also loves the MN Twins! This is a gum paste replica I made of the Target Field sign of Minnie and Paul shaking hands over the Mississippi River.

Katie's Graduation Cake

Our employee, Katie graduated from Royalton, MN. She got to wear an honor band for being an "awesome person" so she wanted it displayed on her cake.
The middle tier is zebra stripes and the top & bottom tier are maroon & purple circles.
I made the grauation hat out of gum paste, which I molded around a mini mixing bowl. The diploma, tassle and honor band are made out of marshmallow fondant.  Tier sizes are: 12 inch, 9inch, & 6 inch and all are each 2 layers. I used all marshmallow fondant except  for the maroon hat.

Get the door! It's Domino's!

I made this cake for Shane for Father's Day. Our girls asked if we could make him a cake & wanted the pizza design. My daughter, Michaela helped make toppings which include: sauce, grated cheese, ham, green peppers, sausage & black olives. This is a 12 inch pizza/cake.

Bathing Horse

This cake was made for a 21st birthday for Jenny, a family friend! She grew up riding horses & training them. Her family has almost a dozen horses, so I thought that it would be really fun to incorporate her horse loving side into her cake. I found a photo online & I had to do it. It is so cute, right?!
I made a 6 inch 2 layer cake. I made about 100 bubbles in three different colors and let them air dry. The wooden barrel is made out of light brown fondant that I painted a little bit with food coloring. I let it dry to harden flat and then added the gray lines around to "hold the barrel together." The grass is homemade green butter cream frosting.
The horse head and body I made to resemble a horse as closely as I could. I made the body & head out of chocolate marshmallow fondant. I even made the teeth and upper lip.
The horse hair I made by rolling out rectangles of fondant, squishing the fondant with a fork and then cutting the hair into strips.

Not So "Killer" Killer Whales

My sister Lisa had her friend ask me to make a killer whale cake for her daughter's birthday on June 19th. I did a 2 layer 12 inch cake with sea foam colored homemade butter cream frosting. I made some "vicious" little killer whales out of Marshmallow fondant and added a little orange octopus for a little splash of color.
I LOVE getting orders that are out of the ordinary! It's a great outlet for the creative artsy side of me!

Rad Grad

Our employee, Brianna Jo wanted a cool graduation cake for June 12th, so I made her this! It is all covered in Homemade marshmallow fondant that is colored  purple, yellow & black. This is a 5 tier cake which consists of a 2 layer 14 inch, a 1 layer 12 inch, a 2 layer 9 inch, a 2 layer 8 inch and a 2 layer 6 inch. I know that's a lot to read... sorry! The coloring is off too because I had to keep it on my stove... it was too heavy for me to move off without help.
All of the stars and zebra stripes are also made out of homemade fondant. The little circles on the black are the Wilton pearlized sprinkles.

Dragonflies

I made this cake for our church's 1 year anniversary in our new church for June 12th. It is my first topsy turvy cake. The cake is covered in white buttercream and is wrapped with black fondant ribbon & bows.
The dragonflies I made from gelatin. I colored it, let it dry & then cut out & decorated their wings. Their bodies are black fondant. The tiers are a 14 & 12 inch base, a 10 & 8 inch middle, and a 6 & 4 inch top.

Grandpa's Talladega Run

Shane's Grandfather, John took a 6 lap trip in April down the Talladega raceway.  So, I thought I'd let him re-live his experience of driving a Nascar car. John & his wife Leanne live in an RV and follow some of the races so I had to put it on the cake too! Everything that you see is Marshmallow fondant... the raceway, the cars, the RV, the Talladega logo... all covered in fondant. They visited us for a few days & we had a family gathering on Saturday, June 4th.
The raceway is made out of 5 -12 inch cakes which were pieced together to form the raceway.
I made 6 Nascar cars out of marshmallow fondant... but some were way more detailed then others! This is the #18 M&M's car  driven by Kyle Busch.
This is the # 31 car driven byJeff Burton.
This is the #99 car driven by Carl Edwards.
This is car # 88 driven by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
This is car # 17 driven by Matt Kenseth.
This is car # 6 driven by David Ragan.

Farmer Jack's Cake

I made this cake on June 4th for Jack, a little boy in my AWANA Cubbies class. He wanted a farm cake. both tiers (12 inch & 8 inch, 2 layers each) are covered in buttercreamfrosting.
I made a little farm scene on the bottom tier with the tractors and animals and then had a scene with a pig splashing mud all over the top tier. I even made a piece of mud flying over the pig with wire.

Princess Crown Cake

My daughter, Michaela designed this cake for her friend Jessica's birthday party. But.. I got the honor of making it! This is a 2 tiered cake made up of a 12 inch and an 8 inch cake each 2 layers. It is all decorated in homemade marshmallow fondant which was colored either black, pink, or just left white. The bottom tier I covered in pink & then made my first zebra stripes! Very Diva looking! The second tier is covered in black and I cut out white dots & pink swirls out of fondant.
Making the crown was SO FUN! It is made out of gum paste, which is like fondant... but hardens a lot faster. I made it how I wanted it & put it around a coffee can to dry for a few days. I then painted it & glittered it with sparkle dust. Jewels were then added and lastly the name.
