Celo's Violin

My Violin for the top of the cake, hand painted.

I made this violin cake on November 14th for a teacher's birthday at our local music school. His last name is Celo & he teaches violin & other instruments to our children in Little Falls. He has also conducted & is a great supporter for the arts in our community. The request for this cake was made by a friend who's kids have had the privilege of being tutored by Celo.  

 I made a two tiered, blue cake with a white candy border. I made a curvy staff and bright pink & orange notes & also decorated the cake with black music accents. 

 I made marshmallow fondant music sheets.

 Gum paste violin & bow I made for Celo. The strings I had to re-do twice because they were so delicate. I finally figured out that I couldn't stand the violin up... I had to lay it down & then place the strings on.

Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, Batman

 I made this cake for a little boy who loves Batman & motorcycles. So... naturally, I had to make the Bat-mobile for him.

The bat-mobile is made out of rice treats and marshmallow fondant. This was a 14 inch vanilla cake which was filled with raspberry filling.

Mrs. Lano's Cupcakes

 Lincoln School's "coolest kindergarten teacher got married! She is now Mrs. Lano

 I made fall theme cupcakes for her wedding celebration. I used colors for fall and made little fall leaves for each cupcake.

 I decorated my cupcake stand with brown & green satin ribbon.  I also used glasses filled with fall leaves for a "harvest" theme. I also added a few carnations with a green jewel in the center for a little sparkle.

 
The cupcakes are vanilla flavored with a cream cheese/raspberry filling. I also had a cream cheese frosting.

Piggies in the Mud

 My daughter, Penny & I made cupcakes for my Grandpa Herb's birthday. Penny helped make all of the piggies, forming the circles & cylinders for the different pig bodies. These are chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting that I died brown. The Piggies are made out of homemade marshmallow fondant.
