Amtrak Train for Nathan

One of my girlfriends from high school asked me to make her little boy, Nathan a cake. He LOVES trains... especially the Amtrak ones! I decided to only make the engine car due to the details, making pieces too small for a little train & other little details I would need to put make a full train. Plus...I didn't have a big enough board to pull off a full train.
I made him a chocolate cake with a vanilla/almond filling and covered it in marshmallow fondant.
I put brown sugar under the tracks to look like dirt & added green frosting for the grass.
The back of the train.
Amtrak train. I know that the Amtrak trains only have the logo on the left front of the train if you are looking at it from the front... but I wanted to make sure that when they took photos, the logo would be seen from the other side too!

Little Sassette Smurf

Sassette Smurfling Comic2.jpg
This is Sassette Smurf. She was the second female Smurf who was created by the same magic formula Gargamel had used to create Smurfette with, though the Smurflings who created her used a smaller amount of blue clay than what Gargamel used for Smurfette, resulting in a female Smurfling.
Her attitude is that of a tomboy Smurfling who likes to do things that her fellow male Smurflings do. Smurfette considers her a sister Smurf, though, despite having a hard time understanding Sassette's interests at first. She does have a girly side though -- she likes dressing up and playing with her doll Smurfy Lou.

Sassette is a tomboy: playful, energetic, and is willing to get dirty just to have some fun. During her debut episode, Sassette liked playing usual boy games, like marbles, climbing trees, digging for earthworms, arm wrestling and even mud playing. She did gain some feminine interests over time. People who never heard of Sassette always questioned where she came from, as they thought there was only supposed to be one female smurf. Some incorrectly assume she was an offspring of the Smurfs.
She was really created by the Smurflings, in attempt to cheer up a sad Smurfette so that she wouldn't be lonely anymore, but due to their small size, they only gathered enough blue clay to make a Smurfette that was two apples tall (Or the size of a Smurfling).
Like Smurfette, Sassette started out as being extremely rude -- she actually got her name when Hefty pointed out how "Sassy" she was and then Painter called her a "Sassette."

I made this cake for a "grown" smurf lover for her birthday.
I made marshmallow fondant for her entire body, hat & overalls. I also made her a flower out of gum paste!
Sassette has such cute pigtails!

Happy Pirate Ship

I made this pirate ship for my nephews family birthday party on Saturday, Marsh 3rd. For the cake, I made three little pirates.
The sails are made out of gum paste and the masts are made out of skewers & fondant.
I made the ship out of Chocolate cake & peanut butter filling. I covered it in brown marshmallow fondant.
On the sails I painted happy skulls.
I painted the ship to look like wood grain. I also painted on nails.
 Matthew & his pirate ship.

Daffodils & Daisies

I made a sheet cake for a 50th birthday party on Sunday, March 4th. She wanted daffodils & a lot of yellow.
This was the first time I made daffodils... a very time consuming flower!
 My little daffodils.
This is a photo of daffodils from a book my Melody got from her stack of books. She kept comparing my daffodils to her photo in her book.

Daisies & Pansies

I made a cake for an 80th birthday for Sunday, March 4th. They wanted a lot of bright flowers because the birthday girl loves to garden, so I thought about bright yellows & purples. And... I know that my grandma loves pansies!
I made pansies & white daisies.

Pirate Matthew

My nephew, Matthew had a birthday party on March 2nd for a few of his friends from kindergarten so ha needed a little cake. I made him a mini pirate ship.
I added a paper sail with his name on it & drew a little skull on it with a crayon.

It's My Birthday Horse

I made this horse cake for a little boy named Holden on Friday, March 2nd.
I made a chocolate cake with Peanut butter filling. The horse base color I chose to do brown & the mane & tail I made black. My sister has an arabian named Molly... & I like to imitate her coloring. It's a lot easier for me to imagine what I need to do!
The horse is covered in marshmallow fondant.
I LOVE making a horses mouth! I like making the gums & teeth look like they are sticking out. I also love making the hooves & horse shoes.

Bieber Fever

Shelby, a girl that I know asked me if I could make her a birthday cake with a Justin Bieber theme.

I covered a 10 inch 2 layer cake with purple fondant. I then piped on a music staff with notes as a border around the sides of the cake.
I made a microphone out of fondant & I found a small Justin photo & added it to a gum paste star. I also made stars for the cake & covered them in edible glitter.

Marvel Super Heroes

I made this cake for a little boys birthday. His name is Matt & he loves super heroes! I made a night scene in a city for the bottom tier & superheroes for the top tier. I also made a bat symbol for the topper.
 The Hulk
 Batman
 Spiderman
 Superman
The back of the cake I made a Superman cape & draped it over the top tier of the cake. This was a 6 inch and a 10 inch tier.
