30th Wedding Anniversary

A good friend of mine & her husband celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Their kids threw them a surprise party on September 24th. They were married at the court house & never had a wedding or a cake so we had to do it right. I wanted to have a vine/branch theme because I thought it would fit in with their big family.
I made a light blue cake with a vine & red blossoms.
Each layer of cake is 2 layers. there is a 4 inch top, a 8 inch middle and a 12 inch bottom
Calla Lilies are symbols of the 30th wedding anniversary, so I added them to the top of the cake. Pearls are also symbols of the 30th & they are represented in the blossoms & borders. This cake was a homemade vanilla cake with homemade raspberry & buttercream filling. the marshmallow fondant is also homemade.

Pirate Pablo

My cousin Llynda came up from Colorado & her son Chance turned 1. We scheduled a party for him on the 23rd of September. His favorite show is the Backyardigans & his favorite episode is the one with the pirates, treasure & coconuts.
I made Pablo out of vanilla cake that I died blue. His body is carved out of three cakes & his head is a circle cake.
Everything on Pablo is made out of homemade marshmallow fondant, except for the straw, the gold chocolate covered coins & the ring pops. The sand is brown sugar.
This is Chance blowing out his #2 candle.

Pirate Hubred & His Pet Giraffe

This is a cupcake I made for one of my daughter, Michaela's teachers. His name is Hr. Hubred & he's the 6th grade science teacher. He loves pirates & giraffes.
The faces are made out of homemade marshmallow fondant.

Mr. Tim's Biker Jacket & Wheels

My nephew, Timothy (aka Mr. Tim) wanted to have a motorcycle cake for his 7th birthday. He specifically wanted me to make blue flames that went to yellow & a little biker jacket like I had made before.
Mr. Tim specifically asked for a blue & yellow motorcycle for the top that he could play with, so I bought him one of each.
I made a little number 7 out of gum paste so that it would stand up upon the cake.
Mr. Tim almost ready to sing, blow out candles & eat his cake.
Look at all of the kids... we have a big family & this is only a fraction of them. I am the oldest of 10 kids, the youngest is 7. Now, with a half of them having other spouses & kids, we really take up the space. (notice the location of the party is outside)
This cake is a 6 inch 2 layer & a 10 inch 2 layer cake. it is made out of homemade marshmallow fondant, buttercream, cake & raspberry filling. Nummy, nummy!
